MODA MAKERS: 64 COMPANIES AT THE 8TH EDITION, SHOWCASING CARPI KNOW-HOW TO THE WORLD

64 companies will take part in Italy’s biggest ready-to-wear fashion event. Visitors from around the world are expected to attend on 12-14 November

Since its inception, Moda Makers has become Italy’s leading ready-to-wear event. The 8th edition will be staged in Carpi from Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 November, showcasing the finest textiles and clothing from the Emilia area.

64 companies will be taking part, 10 of them for the first time. The firms’ turnover tops €69 million and they employ 368 employees. Moda Makers will be dedicated to those who work in the industry, mainly buyers, and will give companies the opportunity to display their autumn/winter 2020/21 collections with samples that express a complete look and extensive options at a range of price levels.

The thousands of examples of packaging fashion, knitwear, tailoring, shirts and outerwear will be exhibited over two floors covering 2700 square metres of the Carpi Fashion System Center. This is the space specially selected by Carpi municipal council as the exhibition area.

In further news, the Moda Makers Fashion Show has been confirmed for 19:00 on Wednesday 13 November. Organised by RC Fashion, the event will give participating companies the opportunity to show their creations on the catwalk in front of an audience of buyers. For this edition, the venue will be ‘La Baracca sul mare’, headquarters of the Daniela Dallavalle company, at 9 Viale Fleming.

The date will be an important one for the district of Carpi and for the entire region. The event will be high-profile, offering the city increased visibility and significant economic benefits for the hotel sector, restaurants and transport.

Together with the quality and variety of the products on show, the interest of buyers and companies is due to the important fact that firms from the area are involved directly in the organisation of the event. Some are part of the team overseeing operations, having an input into the management and creation of each edition. The companies are flanked by partner institutions – the Consorzio Expo Modena, which organises the event for Carpi Fashion System, the project that works to promote the area’s companies. The initiative is supported by CNA, LAPAM-Confartigianato, Confindustria Emilia, the Modena Chamber of Commerce and Carpi municipal council, with a significant contribution from the Fondazione CR Carpi.

It is possible to pre-register for the event on the modamakers.it website, enabling visitors to avoid queueing at the entrance (this procedure is only available to industry operators, with priority given to buyers, shop owners and shop chains). The website also provides information on routes and distances, suggestions for destinations for day-trips, restaurants and hotels. The organising staff will also be on hand for international buyers when they arrive at the city’s exhibition area, situated in the city’s industrial zone.

“We believe”, comments Carpi municipal council’s Councillor for Economics, Stefania Gasparini, “that Moda Makers is a clear sign that teamwork brings good results. It is important that attention paid to the district, its companies and the entire textile-clothing sector, is promoted and that the aims of the Carpi Fashion System are as ambitious as ever. Competition on the international markets is very strong but it is there – abroad – that our companies have to gain a greater foothold in delivering a solid outlook to what is a fundamental part of the know-how that has made Carpi renowned across the globe”.

Moda Makers can be visited 9:00-18:00 on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 November, and 9:00-17:00 on the final day: Thursday 14 November.

The ribbon will be cut to open the event, in front of local dignitaries, at 9:00 on Tuesday 12 November
